A Break From Fear

Today I thought only a little about Richard and was mostly excited about possibilities of change. I worked until 1:30 just so I could get in my car, pick up Brandon and head down to San Diego, where my Tata's spirit is most likely floating around, to vote especially for Barack and chickens. It's a good feeling to know that a lot of people are thinking and wishing and believing in change.

The night was quiet, not nearly as festive as I would have liked, but I was driving- which is an action that is tied to my history with my grandfather: driving to visit him, being afraid to drive with him, driving like him.

The note from my Tia Feliz said,
"Heard you passed out Obama buttons in memory of your grandpa; this is so touching yet so politically enhancing for the living.

What a bang of a departure and peformed by you, one of the most bravest souls against the destruction of feminine power."

In his acceptance speech a snippet of Barack's message resonated to my core. He said, "While we breathe, we hope." That's me, tonight and most every night. I hope things get better.

Your words were so beautiful...I still find my self amazed on how you can express yourself in such a powerful yet sensative manner.
I love you so much.
